1 Day Nairobi National Park/ Elephant Orphanage/ Giraffe Centre/ Bomas of Kenya Tour
Early Morning: Nairobi National Park (6:00 AM – 10:30 AM)
Start your day with an early morning hotel pick-up and a game drive in Nairobi National Park. This unique wildlife sanctuary, set against the city skyline, is the best place to catch animals when they are most active. You’ll have the chance to spot four of the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino) as well as giraffes, zebras, and a huge variety of birdlife. The game drive typically lasts about 3-4 hours, providing ample time for wildlife viewing and photography.
Mid-Morning: David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
From the park, you’ll head to the renowned Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage. The public visiting hour is a must-see, as it’s the only time visitors can watch the baby elephants get their daily milk bottle and play in the mud. This is a special opportunity to learn about the conservation efforts to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned elephants and rhinos. Note: This visit requires advance booking as it’s limited to a single hour per day.
Lunch (12:00 PM – 1:30 PM)
Enjoy a break for lunch at a nearby restaurant, often a traditional Kenyan barbecue spot, before continuing your tour.
Afternoon: Giraffe Centre (2:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
After lunch, your tour proceeds to the Giraffe Centre. Here, you’ll get up close and personal with the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. From a raised platform, you can hand-feed these gentle giants and even get a “giraffe kiss.” The center’s mission is to protect these beautiful creatures and educate the public on their conservation.
Late Afternoon: Bomas of Kenya (3:30 PM – 5:00 PM)
The final stop of the day is the Bomas of Kenya, a cultural village showcasing the traditional homesteads and daily life of various Kenyan tribes. The highlight is the vibrant cultural performance, which features a spectacular array of music, dance, and folklore. The show is a colorful and energetic display that provides a wonderful glimpse into Kenya’s diverse heritage.
Evening: Drop-off (5:00 PM onwards)
After a day of adventure and cultural immersion, you will be dropped off at your hotel or a preferred location.
